Discovery Passage Aquarium reopens on May 16 for the 2026 season | Campbell River Mirror

The Discovery Passage Aquarium is set to reopen on May 16 for the 2026 season, featuring new exhibits and significant infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing both animal welfare and the visitor experience. In addition to its regular operations, the aquarium will lead Ocean Week Campbell River, a week-long celebration of local aquatic ecosystems that includes sea star surveys, art workshops, and a festival scheduled for June 6. The facility has also expanded its Ocean Explorers Summer Camps with two new themes: “Journey to the Bottom of the Sea” and “Animal Explorers.” Volunteers interested in supporting the aquarium or Ocean Week events are encouraged to contact the organization via email.
