Some Town facilities and services will have altered hours for the Canada Day and the observed Statutory Holiday on Wednesday, July 1. PSA promotes the TD Summer Reading Club Kickoff Party and says, "Explore and travel Canada’s waterways on a GIANT Interactive Floor Map created by Ocean Week Canada."

Canadians Concerned about Ocean Health, yet Optimism is Growing
A recent survey by the Marine Stewardship Council reveals that while 90% of Canadian seafood consumers are concerned about ocean health, optimism regarding future protection efforts is rising. The study highlights that Canadians are increasingly willing to adopt sustainable practices, with 73% supporting a transition to eating only sustainable seafood and nearly half committing to reducing plastic use. Key concerns among respondents include climate change, pollution, and overfishing, driving a strong interest in product traceability and independent certification. The report emphasizes the role of the MSC blue fish label in providing consumers with confidence that their purchases come from well-managed, environmentally sustainable sources.

Du 1er au 8 juin 2026, la Semaine de l’océan Québec est de retour pour une 7e édition haute en couleurs! Portée par Organisation Bleue depuis 2020, cette célébration provinciale invite le public à se rassembler autour du Saint-Laurent et de l’océan à travers une foule d’activités festives et engagées. Nettoyages de berges, conférences, activités familiales, projections, concerts et initiatives citoyennes prendront vie aux quatre coins du Québec, notamment à Montréal, à la Capitale nationale, en passant par Lacolle, Trois-Pistoles, le Saguenay et plusieurs autres régions. Inscrite dans le mouvement national de la Semaine de l’océan Canada, la Semaine de l’océan Québec célèbre depuis maintenant sept ans notre lien profond avec le fleuve, les communautés côtières et l’océan.
