The Alliance Française in Halifax celebrated Ocean Week with a diverse sociocultural program designed to highlight the importance of marine ecosystems and foster community engagement. Events included interactive activities for children at the Halifax Central Library, a screening of the film "La Vallée des fous," and a scientific panel featuring experts from Dalhousie University and the Ocean Frontier Institute. The initiative also involved a collective beach cleanup by staff and volunteers, concluding with a guided tour of Joan Jonas’s immersive exhibition at the Nova Scotia Museum of Fine Arts. Through these combined artistic, educational, and scientific efforts, the organization aimed to raise awareness about ocean preservation and the collective responsibility to protect this vital environment.
